1. Chronic-degenerative processes of health problems
Study of processes related to etiopathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, risk factors and prophylaxis of chronic degenerative diseases.
2. Clinical-epidemiological correlation and prevention of communicable diseases
Multidisciplinary study of the clinical-epidemiological, laboratory, therapeutic and prophylactic aspects of communicable diseases, evaluating their indicators and patterns of occurrence, and the rational use of drugs used for their control.
3. Genetically determined disorders and human reproduction
Study of genetically determined conditions and their risk factors. Study of the etiopathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of conditions related to human reproduction.
4. Promotion of human health and quality of life
Study of initiatives related to the development of human health promotion, healthy aging, quality of life conditions, and investigation of risk factors for health problems
5. Laboratory research in the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases
Study of laboratory methods used in blood, secretions, organic fluids and tissues for diagnosis, prognosis and epidemiological tracking, and for investigating the etiopathogenesis and morphology of human diseases.
6. Inflammatory and allergic processes of health disorders
Study of changes and pathogenic mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory and allergic manifestations of human diseases.
7. Neuroscience
Study of the functions of the nervous system and higher cortical functions and the neuromuscular system with degenerative and hereditary conditions and their interfaces with their neurophysiological, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic aspects.
8. Health Sciences Education
Study of the development of techniques for the continuous critical and transformative evaluation of daily practices in Health Sciences Teaching, evaluation of the teaching-learning process and interdisciplinarity processes. Analysis of theoretical-conceptual and methodological subsidies for critical, reflective and creative action in the teaching environment in Health Sciences.
